SUSTAINABILITY
As the oldest hotel in the city with a priveleged position banking on the River Limmat (which, with 5 nostalgic open-air pools on its banks, continues the 19th century tradition of bathing), the topic of sustainability is of great importance to us.
When we tell our guests that they can swim in the Limmat and that the water is of drinking quality, they are often amazed. Standing on our own Storchen Pier, our guests can imagine being in Venice - except that the water in Zürich is crystal clear.
For us at the Storchen Zurich, it is all about taking into account and harmonizing the needs and concerns of people, the environment and the economy in equal measure.
Sustainability is a process - a long road that we will certainly take. Compliance with legal requirements is not enough for us; we want to set an example and exceed it. We summarize our efforts in our sustainability mission statement.

Plastic neutral
Thanks to a cooperation with CleanHub, The Living Circle is "plastic neutral." The hotels have systematically reduced single-use plastic. Where it is not substitutable, the single-use plastic is compensated through the cooperation with CleanHub.

The Living Circle x Fundaziun Uccelin
The Living Circle supports the Fundaziun Uccelin of Sarah and Andreas Caminada from January 2023. We will donate a voluntary contribution of 2 Swiss francs per menu in each of our fine dining restaurants in Zurich and Ascona to the independent foundation.

No Food Waste
Thanks to the bio-tran system in the kitchen of our hotels, environmentally friendly energy is generated from our preparation and food waste. Strict waste separation and thus the correct recycling of waste is also a matter of course for us. Nespresso pods are collected and returned.
